Opera for Seniors

Book a program >>

The Opera for Seniors program takes lively operatic repertoire to elderly persons in retirement life communities. Presented in the Philadelphia and Montgomery County regions, these music enrichment outreach programs provide an opportunity for senior citizens to enjoy musical selections and interact with the performers.  These programs are specifically designed to engage elderly audiences and enhance their quality of life. Opera for Seniors presentations can be adapted for different levels of care.

Each presentation is 50 minutes in length and consists of two or more singers and an accompanist who perform operatic arias and engage the audience in the understanding and interpretation of these selections.  The facility must provide a tuned, functional piano.

Bring this program to your facility and let your residents experience the uplifting power of operatic music!

A result of our work with the elderly population in the Philadelphia area has been the development of a new American Opera entitled Transitions:  Sung Stories.  This production stems from a series of interviews with Senior residents of NewCourtland that was fictionalized and set to music.
